Sunstone lesbian latex and bondage

Sunstone is a 2011 webcomic by Croatian comic artist Stjepan Šejić, published by Top Cow in softcover and hardcover as of 2014. It describes the lesbian love affair between two women from the BDSM subculture.

Allison (Ally) Carter and Lisa Williams are two women in their mid-20s who feel an unfulfilled passion for BDSM, specifically fetish clothing and bondage. While nerdy programmer Ally prefers the dominant part, waitress and part-time erotica writer Lisa longs for the submissive role as bottom or sub. Both have had failed relationships with men who always misunderstood their fantasies. The two women meet through an online portal and arrange to have a lesbian bondage session. Both Domme Ally and Sub Lisa overcome initial bias, successfully live out their fantasies, and begin a passionate relationship that initially serves only to satisfy their lust.

As the plot progresses, Ally’s ex-boyfriend Alan, who advises her on BDSM as an experienced Dom and professional fetish furniture maker, and bisexual tattoo artist Anne are introduced. She meets Lisa through her erotic stories and becomes the new best friend of the two women. Ally organizes more and more refined role-playing games in which she gives Lisa a hard time with her full consent. The lucky sub uses her experiences as inspiration for online bondage stories (key novels with parodies of Ally, Anne and herself), which become very popular on social media.

To their trepidation, Ally and Lisa realize they are falling in love, but don’t have the courage to admit it to each other. This leads to a momentous misunderstanding: at Halloween in a BDSM club, Ally flirts with Anne and Lisa at the same time, upsetting both friends. Lisa breaks up with her, but talks it out with Anne. Anne notes that Lisa always leaves the initiative to her partners, which is okay in role-playing but questionable in real life – and confesses that with her consent, she would have been open to a threesome. Lisa takes her criticism to heart and begins posting a lengthy key novel online. Here, Lisa’s character praises the domme skills of Ally’s character, confessing her love for her, coupled with self-criticism that a sub also has a duty to actively engage in a relationship. Ally understands this allusion, reconciles with Lisa, returns her declaration of love and marries her. Anne and Alan also fall in love and become sub and dom, respectively.

The comic often emphasizes the importance of safe, sensible, and consensual bondage. The comic title “Sunstone” is Ally’s safeword. Ally spends a lot of money and care to both acquire appropriate furniture, clothing, and paraphernalia, and to learn how to use them expertly. Alan is tormented by the memory of a failed bonding session that nearly caused permanent damage to his then-sub. Other topics include “everyday,” sometimes unintentionally comical experiences with vinyl and leather clothing, relevant toys, and in role-playing (e.g., when the Dom has to step out of character for a few seconds to simply wipe the immobilized sub’s nose), and the role of honesty in a deep relationship. Ally and Lisa fall out because they initially don’t want to admit their love to each other. In a subplot, Lisa’s older brother Mike tries to patch up his troubled marriage with an open relationship. This fails all the more until his wife and he admit their true needs and cheerfully begin a joint partner therapy. This commands the highest respect from Lisa, who (apparently) has a completely different relationship.
